Hi:)

I have few questions on keywords in the <title></title> and <h1></h1> tags.

Q.1. What would be best, having an exact 2 keyword phrase in the <title></title> or having *three* words in the title total with the keyword?

Ex. <title>widget repair</title>

or

<title>widget repair guide</title>

I ask because if i use only 2 keywords in the <title>
</title> my keyword weight(density) is 100% and my seo software says that too high a weight can make search engines believe you are spamming. So my seo software tells me to add a few words.

But i have seen sites that use a 2 keyword phrase and
they rank really well. What should i do?

Q.2. Also, what about the <h1></h1> tag?
If it also has a keyword weight of 100%?
Do i change it to 2 keyword or the keyword with the
added few words?

Ex. <h1>widget repair</h1>

or

<h1>widget repair guide</h1>

Any advice will be greatly appreciated:)

Thank you very much:)

Hi!normally a two word keyword is suggested,as most of the sites use one word keyword, and there is huge competition amongst them, and they are all in a que to be ranked well. So,rather than wasting time on competing with those already in que,it's been suggested, that, one should go for two or more than two words keyword.
Hope this will be of some help.
Thanks,
Arsi.

If 'widget repair' (or whatever equivalent) is your main offering, I'd go with just that.
I can't see any harm in it. Its wouldn't look like kw stuffing to me. What WOULD look like kw stuffing
would be 'widget repair', repeated endlessly and mindlessly all over your text, meta tags etc.
There, I would exercise moderation. Just write naturally and try for the most effective presentation.
