making a one page sales copy SE friendly

Hello, I'm new to the site, so I'll probably have more questions than comments at first.

I have a two content sites that are doing fairly well in the SE's. However, I want to market a product, but I am confused as to how I would optimize a one page site, that is primarily a sales copy and designed to sell the product rather than rank well in the SE's.

In addition, I am use to the old "content is king" way of doing things, and can't see how a site can rank well with only one page lacking many links pointing to it.

I am going to promote this site by other means, of course, but I also want to utilize organic search traffic. Thanks for any suggestions that you guys have for me. It's appreciated

Hi, jadert and welcome to webmasterworld. There's obviously a reason you don't want to just include this page the rest of your site. The first thing that comes to my mind would be to create a subdomain for this page from one of your two sites. That way the SE's pick it up without you having to link to the page from the site directly. At least I think they will. (maybe someone else can reasure you).

The other option would be to create a mini content site promoting the product. Actually, if you did both it might work even better. Create a mini 4-6 site promoting the main page and create a subdomain for it. Good luck.

Thanks for the response. I can't believe that the subdomain option that you mentioned I didn't think of. Thanks for the suggestion.

I also inquired about keywords etc. because I want the sales copy to be persuasive, but I also want the page to be optimized for the engines. That concept is a lot harder than it seems! I am continuing to work on building links, but I just seem stuck from a SEO perspective.

Thanks you guys.
