Will Domain Names Alone Return Search Results?

Trying to find out if the search engines will find page based only on DNS

I will soon have two domain names that will resolve to the same IP. Hypothetical example: www.paperproducts.com and www.brandnamepaper.com. If someone is searching for the term, brandnamepaper, will the search engines return brandnamepaper.com because of it's close relevancy to the search term (based on domain name only), or what will the probability be that www.papeerproducts.com will return?

If you have two totally unrelated domains on the same IP then it is unlikely that one of them will be returned if you searched for the other.

There's probably a better way to phrase my question. Will search engines read keywords in domain names or is that a thing of the past?

Yes they will, but actual weight they assign to that match will not be definitive.

Thanks for your insight. On a somewhat related note... is there a way to find out how many people have searched for a non-registered domain name? And is there a way to see search statistics on other people's domains? I use google's rank tool, but it's not telling me what I want to know. I want to know how may people tried accessing specific domains. Don't worry, I'm not a cybersquatter... otherwise I would probably know the answer to my question. Before I register a few domains, I curious to see how in demand they are and if my customers are looking there for my site.
