Duplicate Words in page title

If my page title had duplicate words in the page title would I be penalised for this - e.g :

Acme Acme Widgets

I ask this because some of my data has the Branding as part of the description and some does not - I wish to append the brand on the front of the description which in some cases doubles up. I can strip out simple and clear duplicates but what about :

Acme Inc Acme Widgets

Would that be bad as well?

Hello Haggul: All I can say is this. The #1 (sometimes #2) site in my arcane niche
has this for his page title ( I kid you not .. direct edited quote!)

Its been like that for months or years, and Google loves it,
and keeps the site right up top. Google and look for yourself.

I refuse to do anything like that out of sheer embarrassment,
but nothing prevents you from having a title like
" Acme widgets Walt Acme Disney widgets unidentified flying acme widgets .. "

I can't complain too much however. Whenever this keyword stuffer
is in the #1 slot, my site comes in around #16.
When he drops to the #2 slot, I drop to #19.

I can't begin to figure that out. Best wishes - Larry
