Hi,

Have been reading through the posts re seo and taking a look around through google at various site. The problem i seem to have is finding index pages which are to me good examples of the current seo thinking. If at all possible and i would be most greatful if members could sticky me addresses to sites which they think are good examples of todays thinking on oes so i can actually see ideas in use

Although I don't have a specific site to sticky you with, it is as simple as doing a Google search for any super competitive keyword.

The top 5 listings out of a few million results are likely very well optimized for that keyword.

You can go one step farther if you have the Google toolbar. Look for sites in the top 5 with lower PR than the others. Those sites will likely be very well SEO'd.

Yes and either using flash, Keyword stuffing, frames or some other kind of technpwlegy. It has become really obvious to me that while the correct way as is descussed in so many articles on this site is not the most common way. I may be completely wrong and totally missing it but if I am then where are all the replies to my post from people eagerly pushing good examples of SEO......

My guess is that if sites are getting really good placements but with a low page rank they want to keep their methods to themselves or else their techniques would become the norm and would no longer be effective. If I had a site in the top 5 with a really low PR then I certainly would't want to tell people how I did it. The techniques discussed on WW and other sites are generally the norm and definately have some offect on your results but if you want to break out and get truly excellent results then you need to think for yourself and experiement.
