I am sure there is no simple reason, but I am wondering what it could be that is really affecting our rankings for organic results in google. We have turned off our advertising on Adwords, and I am trying to see if PPC is affecting it, but nothing yet.
Hope someone can give me some ideas.
P.S. Anyone want a Gmail account...lol

1) When did you submit to Google?
2) How many inbound links are pointing to your site?
I am still learning all this myself but from what I understand it can take a good solid year to get an excellent ranking in Google. Inbound links from sites who have high PR are also a must. The more active your link campaign is the better. Also, a rumor I heard is that sites who use adsense get visited more frequently but again that is just a rumor. Also, get a listing at dmoz.org if you dont already have one.
I am kinda in the same boat as you. I launched a *new* site in Nov. of 2004. I submitted to all the major search engines at the same time and I have a decent ranking on all of them except google. Google is its own beast who likes to take its time. Once your pages get a better PR (which comes from the amount of sites link to you and how often your pages are visited) they will be at the top of the list.
