Slighty different content for bots

Why show ads when it is a bot visiting?

Every time a person comes to my article pages they see the content and then ads in a column next to it. I want to put a targeted RSS feed in place of the ads when it is one of the more popular bots to up my keyword frequency.

Based on my experements I can up the KW frequency by about 1-5% depending on the length of the article, getting me closer to my target frequency.

Is this cloaking?

Can you see any downside to this strategy, other than extra processing time?

People may be going to your site because some text in the RSS you added is of their interest.
When they arrive at the page, they can't find that content.

So you are cloacking here in a bad way the search engine's don't like.

Solution?
Put the column with RSS information under the add for ALL visitors.
Remove the add when a bot requests the page.
Not displaying ads at crawlers wouldn't be seen as `spamming` the search engine's, but more a way of reducing bandwidth use or removing content of the page that is of no use to the crawler.
