I am wondering about the general feel of each of these shows and their differences: in terms of size, excitability/enthusiasm, exhibitor turnout, conference attendees, distinguished speakers, etc.
Reason being that we are considering exhibiting at and attending the Chicago show (we are exhibiting for 1st time in San Jose and are trying to get a feel for where we should focus our future efforts...), and are wondering if it would be worth our while...
Thanks in advance.
I'd say you really can't go wrong with SJC, NYC, and Chicago. They're all very good shows, with lots of buyers.
Attendee-wise, NYC was a totally different dynamic - much more suit and tie than most SES shows usually are. It was night and day compared to San Jose. Chicago was a good mixture - lots of ad agencies, but lots of tech people mixed in - an accurate represntation of Chicago.
It pretty much works just like you'd expect. Stereotype the cities, and you pretty much have the feel of the local SES. :)
Speakers are mostly the same from one domestic SES to the next, with New York getting a couple of different ones.
Excitement is the same from show to show. It's been very intense since Chicago last year, IMHO, when the economy started to turn around and the industry got some serious press.
We were in NY this past year and it was serious suit business! I do miss the Boston show though - I am a beantown chick. The other shows sound equally cool...
Never been to Chicago, it sounds like a different mix of folks...but I guess it is not far behind in terms of sheer numbers and intensity...
Sounds like Chicago would be a good show for us to check out and promote at...
