hi all,
Now my sites static as well as dynamic pages are going very well at SEs. i want to optimize pages for users of different countries, like we have operations in almost every country.

To target the country specific user who uses country names in the search phrases, how can i optimize my page for such keywords.

How about registering a subdomain for the country where major customer base is residing. and then optimizing this sub domain for the keywords that include the country name. will it work?

please, every idea of yours will be a thankful effort.

thanks

That is not an easy thing to do and IMHO you need to do two things.

The first thing is getting a good placement for the right keywords and key phrases in the specific country. This requires in-depth knowledge of the language and also culture (a good example of this is a Danish based chocolate manufacture that wanted to expand into the American marked. The company logo was a drawing of a cock’s head (Yes the bird!). The product they wanted to sell was nuts covered with chocolate, and the name they chose was COCK NUTS. As you probably can se, some knowledge of American slang would have helped some in this case). The technical optimization is the same as for domestic based SE’s

Secondly (or the same really) you need knowledge of cultural things in order to know what to do and what not to do. The example form above is also applicable her.

The Advice is, Get help from a native, or someone who knows the country very very well

what about the searches that a businessman do on search engine like if someone is looking for the hotels in malaysia, he will write "hotels in malaysia"
some want to know the major exporters of india.
so he will search as "fruit exporters in india".

suppose my site has all this information but the site is not optimized for such keyword phrases. then i think we just need the keyword phrases only and not the understanding of the country's language.

because these all i think is in english and to optimize a site for keyword phrases like "traders of china", do we have to understand deeply the language of every country?

thanks for your reply

Well it depends who your target group is. If your target group is the Chinese, you would need to know both the different Chinese languages and the culture of this country.
If the target group is your own countrymen travelling to china it is much easier. They don’t ues Chinese search engines and they think like you (more or less). So get your target group strait, and remember that the more precise you are the better it works.
