How to find out if my site is listed with a Search Engine

How can I find out if my Website is listed or indexed within each of the major Search Engines? Is there a way for me to confirm that a major Search Engine know that my site exist and could therefore be displayed in key word search results?

Type in only "www.yoursiteurl.com" and see what happens.

Try "site:www.yoururl.com" and you'll get all the pages that have been indexed.

Thanks for the quick replies and help. I thought that might be the way but was not sure when I tried some Search Engines and got no results.... now I know why, they do not have the site indexed....... thanks again. Joe
