Almost Hidden H1 Tag with Keywords

Hi guys,

I'm pretty new to SE marketing. Maybe this question was already answered by one of you before but I just couldn't find it.

My website deals with work and travel holidays in [snip] and sells a preparation/information package about [snip].

To get a better ranking at Google and Yahoo I now added "Information package for Work and Travel in [snip]" in a <H2> tag (H1 was a bit too big) to the very top of every page (there are only about 6 main pages and a couple of pop-ups). The same text is used in the <title>-tag.

Because it doesn't look that nice, I changed the color of the H1-tag with CSS to a HEX-code that is slightly different to the background-color but still invisible.

My question is: does it help to get a better ranking or could it even have a bad effect on the ranking?

Thanks for all replies!

Excellent forum!

Kai

Hi brakai295,

If you used CSS to change the color of the H1, why don't you also use CSS to change it's size?

That way you can have a H1 that look nice and that won't get you into trouble, because it is what mey happen.
