<META NAME="revisit-after" CONTENT="2 days">

This tag invites bots to come back in 2 days...
Is that really helpful?

Actually does bots consider that tag?

Many people says meta tags has no importance at all nowadays...

Which meta tags are really necessary today?

I use to set those:

<meta name="title" content="">
<meta name="description" content="">
<meta name="keywords" content="">

But I wonder if using tags that bots doens't consider is not just a waste of precious bytes.

?

Meta tags do help some, but very little. They will revisit your site based on links to your site and PageRank and not because of the META tag revisit.

Yeah, don't waste your time and space on it. Think links from related sites.

Greetings!
What do you mean exactly by: "Think links from related sites"?
Does haveng link to other pages direct the engine there?

Thanks,
Jack

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, smilinjack.

The best way to have robots from any search engine visit a page often is having *many* inbound links to it, preferably from pages that are already well known to those search engines whose visit you may want.

The main advantages with links from pages on related topics are that they send you more targetted human visitors and ad relevance to your page for those topics. Not sure if this aspect helps the frequency of crawling, though.

Jack, my mantra when creating websites or new pages to an existing website is: "Make it natural". And I believe that there are some very competent webmasters who would agree.

Make links to relevant pages that may be usefull for your visitors. It's really that simple.

Thanks again,
The links I would add are all sub catagories of the main page.
So you are saying to add them in the page?

Regards,
Jack
