I'm curious to know what a grabber page is. Can I benefit from using one?

Thanks,

Never heard one called a grabber page, but I assume it's similar to a landing page, doorway page, jump page, etc...

Essentially these are pages designed to target a specific keyword or phrase that then relates to the rest of your site. we use them all the time not just for SEO, but as summary pages in ecommerce and catalog sites that are not built well from an seo perspective.

Historically doorway pages were also the cloaked pages that people created for the search engines. All these terms seem to be used so loosely that my guess is someone just nicknamed their method grabber pages. Or not?

Hi Jack,
Thanks for your response. I got the term "grabber page" from the stats page that my server offers. I had a feeling that it was the same as a landing page. (I guess it is)

take care,

One meaning of a 'grabber page' is when you use a php script (or other scripting language) on your page to 'grab' the content from another website and display it on your own pages.

It's quite easy to do. You could give me the url of any other persons page, along with the beginning and end points of what you want to grab. I could then display this on my own page - no iframes, no frames, but hard written into the html of my php page.

I run a pet hobby site in the UK and offer webmasters the ability to place my content on their websites.

Other ways of course to get around the need to have a grabber script is to use an xml or other feed.

Another meaning for your phrase is programmes you can use that grab whole websites and download them onto your pc.
