Code to get spiders to revisit

What is the code to get spiders to revisit a site

I know there is a meta tag code that will instruct spiders to re-visit on a stated basis, such as
every 15 days.

Does this still work and is it good to use? Please send me the code if you know it.

Thanks

As far as I've heard, it doesn't work. Spiders visit whenever they darn well feel like it...

You said it. Like one hour before you post those new pages;)

Once you take a minute to ponder the huge size of the web, it seems clear that no search engine spider could afford to take such directions.

Thanks... I am new to Search Engine Optimization and trying to prove it's value to my employer.

Yup... then they post that update immediately to their database, and don't revisit/update for another three months.

I knew a guy running an 'adult' site who swore by meta revisit tags, but I think his rabid posting of new material to newgroups had a lot more to do with his sucess.

I think I read recently in SEF that revist after tags were NOT good for AV or something like that - I've just trashed mine I will see if I can find the info.

Revisit Tag has never worked for me. I have the same problem as Tedster. Visits 5 mins before I can upload changes :) Wish they had a schedule LOL

Acternaweb have you managed to convince them yet? Be interesting to know how you are getting on.
