The challenge that I am faced with is promoting these 60 subdomains individually - its a LOT of work.
I am contemplating the idea of coding www.domain.com so that the search engines could then find the 60 subdomains. In effect we would have a "parent" (www.domain.com) one-way linking to all of its children (subdomain.domain.com)... These subdomains would NOT link back to the parent or each other.
Would this be a risky strategy to employ? Should I market each subdomain independently, or do you think I should provide a one-way link from www.domain.com to all its subdomains?
Look forawrd to your replies.
Update: The search engines have found www.domain.com but there are only a few pages to that site. The search engines really haven't found the subdomains as of yet. I know its only been one week, but we need to get these subdomains indexed in the search engines.
Should I go ahead and provide a search engine friendly link from www.domain.com to all 60 subdomains?
Yes, I would link to the sub-domains, but I would limit how many times....maybe just link from the homepage to these sub-domains.
Also, I've had good results with sub-domains when you get incoming links to each of them from another site. This may be tedious and difficult with 60 sub-domains, but this will insure that they get indexed and I think it will help them do well off the bat.
