Hello guys. I have something bad that may of have happened to my website althought I'm not positive on that thought though. The reason I am posting this message is to see if anyone out there can help me identify what has happened to my website if anything, or if they can ease my thoughts by telling me everything is ok and normal. Currently as I write this and for the past 30 days my website has been using the same meta tags. The meta tags I was using may be the result of why my pagerank is still at 0/10. At the bottom of this post you can see all the meta tags that I was using up until yesturday (Decemeber 1st, 2003). Now I researched all the meta tags and removed the ones that were stupid to use in the first place. I still would like someone to help me decide what is going to happen to my site now and if everything is OK or not.

Firstly, my website is up and its been up for about a month and a half. I've been working on it quite a bit. I've also created a links section on the site and have been contacting people for reciprocal link exchanging. I have compiled quite a few peoples links already and some that are very relevent to my site.

I beleive that my website may be penalized for something. I started thinking that it may be penalized for link farming. I'm not exactly sure what link farms are or if i'm in violation of link farming on my links page or not, but its still one of the reasons that I think my site may be penalized for. The only other reason I think it can be is the meta tags.

I was using this REVISIT-AFTER meta tag. I overheard some people in a chatroom talking about it being possible that google may penalize your site if you use this meta tag and your site content doesn't change before the revisit time expires.

One of the guys in the chatroom had mentioned that sometimes if the time you set for revisit-after 7 days expires and you haven't made any site changes, then you can be penalized for that.

After hearing this, it makes me think that I was penalized and thats why my page rank is 0/10. What I need is to try to find out what has happened to my website?. I am also having thoughts that maybe these meta tags just stopped google from re-indexing my page and if I wait another 6 days googlebot will come and all will be well. If someone can confirm anything at all that i'm saying I would greatly appreciate the help. In the meantime I will try to validate my page to proper markup.

I used to use all of these meta tags below on my website before december 1st. I copied and pasted them from some other website that seemed to be doing real well in google. I have learned a lesson not to copy and paste things that I do not understand now :)

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, raygod

It might be a good idea to remove the specifics that identify your website. They are against the Terms of Service.

I doubt that your meta tags have got you penalised. Search engines care very little about meta tags these days.

Just get more links and after some time your site will show up. Your site doesn't show up on Google or some other search engines I tested when searching for the domain name, so you just need links and patience.

I agree with takagi! Links are pretty important. Don't bother about PR. Just get some good links from NON FFA, NON Guestbook websites ...try and get over 50 one way links or something and you would always be happy. :-)
