What is best for seperating keywords

I noticed a site that I assume (an expert I'm not) is keyword stuffing, meaning they have a list of keywords at the top of the page and then thruout the page, repeat the keywords many times. Correct me on the definition if I'm mis-using it.

At the top all keywords or phrases are seperated by "/" instead of ", ". Is this considered a better way that causes the SE or Robots to not run on from word to word or phrase to phrase?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, Ledfish.

It is certainly keyword stuffing and the separator makes no difference. Have you tested how well that site is doing in seach engines for those words?

The site I saw is doing extremely well in it's rankings. It is holding many #1 or #2 positions under primary keywords. That's why I'm trying to find out if "/" is better since they are using it and I'm using ", "

We are right now doing so poorly that I'm desperate to climb in the ranks, I just worry that I'm too desperate and may accidentally go to far while trying to play the game.

Search engines do not like keyword stuffing. They try to solve the problem with different kinds of filtering. Sometimes those filters work, sometimes they don't. Seems to me that you are both doing keyword stuffing and that you have been caught in a filter while your competitor has not (yet).

I have only begun the keyword stuff as of yesterday in an attempt to improve poor rankings. My competitor has been doing it for about 6-9 months that I know of, with stellar results.

What effect it will have for me is way to early to determine since it's been less than 24 hours.

Sorry for misunderstanding you. I would advise you against trying any kind of keyword stuffing. It is only a matter of time before you get caught. If you do this kind of thing you have to be really competent and know exactly what you're doing.

Along that same question of "/" vs. ","

My title and other meta tags do not have a space in between the words and commas.

i.e. Title: Keyword,Keyword2,Keyword3

Should I make it Title: Keyword, Keyword2, Keyword3 ?

Thanks

Your title should definitely be grammatically correct: Keyword, Keyword2, Keyword3.

Meta keyword tag is not important. There are differing opinions about commas.
