New trend in organizing meta tags?

Hello,
I haven't posted in a long time. I recently built a new site, and was checking out some similar sites with high PR and also those using ADwords. Now it used to be (I thought), that when structuring meta tags, it was a standard <Title> <Keywords> then <Description>. I have noticed many high PR sites have theirs all switched around, with some showing the description before the title, in some cases many lines before, or the description before the keywords. Is this a trend that has a purpose or is it just a matter of preference? Or am I a complete dope and there never was a set outline for meta tags? Thanks.

Jpell,
One of the online spider-simulating sites did not detect the description information unless it came before the keyword tag. Since noticing that, I've always put the description tag before the keyword tag.

I have also found that spider simulators work best with the descriptions before, I don't put keywords before and my site does quite well :)

Don't use the keywords tag.

The only reason i use the description tag is to make Ink's life a little easier, in describing a page
