Less than an hour. Depending on your connection to the Internet of course.

10 minutes.

3. Popularity Link Campaign

This is an ongoing, continuous process that should keep going as long as your site is running, or as long as you need to. Can't measure this one.

We should clarify - SUBMITTING to the ODP, less than one hour. Getting listed....well, get yourself some good books.

Compworld, did u really spend less than 1 hour on your linking campaign?

Hi I was asking the above question because I need to give a client a good idea of what that will cost.

Yahoo + Open directory 1 hours work

Do you think that a SEO professional would create a "web popularity campaign" for someone-elses site and charge for the time. Or would it be better to get the company (43 employees) to do this.
I've done this kind of thing for my own site and in my experience it takes a very very long time trawling the web for each incoming link you manage to secure and therefore rather hard to justify the hours spent for the gain got. Is there milage in doing this as a professional SEO for a client or are they better doing it themselves (client is a 40 employee company)? It seems to have made a start with listing in various industrial directories. They are PR0 at the moment though.

The client seems to want this doing initially and if he can be pleased then a monthly sum for some of the this kind of work may be able to be worked out.

3 days assigned to the above web popularity campaign then 1/2 day per month after that. (I'm not sure I'd be able to get him to wear even this and not sure I'd be able to secure many incoming links in this time to make a difference to his PR)
