SEO value of links/link text?

Hello,

Looking for some opinions on the merits and flaws of local links and their structure. Any help is appreciated.

These questions are regarding local links, as opposed to inbound links or backlinks.

Is there an SEO value or difference between having links for products that point to an internal page vs. an external page if the target page is not desired to be indexed in either case?

For example, links on local pages for a product with a "order now" link that point to a local payment transactioning page, as opposed to links on local pages for a product that point to an offsite transactioning page.

Do the links themselves, or the text in the link, add value for keyword weight or density, and is one method preffered over the other?

Would links with URL parameters (if only 2 short parameters and no parameter = to "id") have any effect on the SEO value compared to links without URL parameters?

Basically, is there a way I can write product links on my online store that will actually benefit my search engine positioning, or at least not hamper it?

My understanding is that alot of outgoing links will actually weaken my page rank, or the value of those outgoing links. That leads to the conclusion that if the links are internal, it may strenghten the page rank.

Any opinions?

Thanks in advance

Links are pathways for the spiders. It is recommend that you use absolute url's (as opposed to relative) so that there are no mix-ups when the spiders are crawling your site.

It has been said that optimized in-site links don't count as much as those that are out of site. If you don't want a particular page indexed you can always do a <meta name="robots" content=" noindex, follow">.

Do the links themselves, or the text in the link, add value for keyword weight or density...

Yes.

Don't approach this like a hacker. Approach it in terms of clarifying the meaning of your website, and understanding what the spider sees when it sees your website.
