I am considering using the title tag in all my text links but with most of my links I try to be very descriptive with the text link in the first place.

For example if I use “Nice Big Blue Square Widgets” as the text link surely the best title tag would be “Nice Big Blue Square Widgets”.

Would a search engine see this as spam or is it even worth the effort?

No.

IMO, yes. It doesn't have a huge impact, but it doesn't take a long time to do, and I think it is one piece of the puzzle.

Anyways, Having your keywords in teh Link Text gets extra weightage to those keywords for your website and it has worked for me.

I have nowhere listed on my website the word link building but still I am ranked on somewhere on the TOP10 positions.

How? Link Building .... :-)
