SEO Use Of <H1>

I was wondering if the engines give more weight to a H tag with a single keyword over one that contains the keyword and some additional text/sentence.

<H1>Brass Wigets Online</H1> or
<H1>Brass Wigets Online At JoesWidgets.com</H1>

I had been using the sentence form, but thought the single keyword approach may lead to better ranking. Any thoughts?

Multiple keywords in <H> tags seem to work better. So ...

<H1>Brass Widgets ... Buy them from Brass Widgets Online</H1>

will usually work better then

<H1>Brass Widgets</H1>

That's been my experience, anyway :)

Some might say your h1 tag should reflect your title tag.

I like to use plurals if possiblle too:

<h1>The Brass Widget Guide - Brass Widgets & More..</h1>

Reflect being the operative word. If title = h1 (= description), it'd be a little too easily to detect and penalise potential SEO activity :o

Or is that just paranoia taking over again? (must keep taking the tablets)

I think so, yes.

An h1 is the on page representation of your title, or at least that is it's purpose. Where's the problem?

It was a joke, Nick! Irony just doesn't work on message boards does it? (sigh)

they say you should have your keyword at least once in an H tag... doesn't matter if h1,2 or 3 from what I understand, as long as it is a headline tag.
