is apparantly a scam

I just got an email from topsitez.us about the need for a confirmation of my site in their directory. I went there and it is a copy of the ODP, but with my site removed. Hence I have to confirm to get in.

Apparently topsites.us is a scam [dynamoo.com], so beware if you receive similar emails.

Just got the same email, promising a listing on page 1 of all the major SEs.

a) click on this link to confirm = in an email from unknown origin is always suspicious, confirms existance of email address
b) top sites US = I have a UK site
c) I am on the first page of SEs = there's nothing they can offer.

Went straight in the bin :o)

I just got a similar e-mail. The address is www-topsites.com - all of the internal links are topsites.us

Funny thing is my site isn't even in the ODP at all.

Wehey I wondered why I was getting so much traffic.. my ever popular topsites-is-a-scam page :)

They're just mining domains now, rather that spamming ODP listed sites. Basically the same thing that Trafficmagnet and those "keyword ownership" spams do.

They send me over 10-20 emails a MONTH. VERY BAD SPAMMER.

people will fall for this. I have told a few people lately to just forget it and delete it. After explaining that a domain of mine needed inclusion. It is just a holding domain. I did change the link url to put their site in or someone I dont likes :)

I hate these people....and you would also if you had several hundred domains.

I get spammed by them so often it is becoming unreal. I have blocked them on so many occasions it is becoming unreal.

I have reported them for spamming numerous times.....they are persistent.

These people are truly the bottom of the barrel. I really dislike the death penalty....but I would be delighted to dish it out to the owner of this scam site!

Get a life TopSites......the world hates you. Try to make a buck from something honest and worthwhile.
