Hi, I am new to this forum and also new to SEO.

Basically what I am looking for is a tool that will generate meta tag keywords out of my web pages.

Running the Keyword Density Analyzer through my web page gives me the list of keywords with Count and Density.

This is great. But now I would like to mark the words and word combinations that I like and press a button and I would get the Meta Tag Keyword list.

Do you know any tool that can do that.

take care

Hi robertooo,

Welcome to Webmaster Wordl [webmasterworld.com].

Most search engines now ignore the meta keywords so you don't have to include them on your pages unless you absolutley want to.

But, let me say first that you determine the keywords you want to target, then use a tool such as the keyword density analyzer to see if you achieved what you wanted.

There are many threads in the Keyword Discussion forum [webmasterworld.com] that tell how different people research keywords and how they then refine it.

It basically comes down to something like this:

Brainstorming how you would search for what your web site offers.

Try these keywords on a couple of the major SEs to see if the results you get are what you expected, i.e., sites that are your competitors.

Run a couple of your competitors pages through the analyzer to get an idea of the keyword density they target.

Write some copy. Run it through the analyzer. Check your results.

At all steps refine, refine and refine some more.

Publish your pages and keep your fingers crossed. Check your traffic logs to see how people are actually finding your site. There will be some surprises.

Fiddle your pages, write new copy that specifically targets the keyword phrases you didn't anticipate.

Repeat.

There are other ways of accomplishing the same end and there is no certain order that things must be done. Everybody has different techniques.

Just remember that you control what's on the page. Always keep your keyword phrases in mind as you write and check your pages and logs afterwards.

Well, I wrote too much, but sometimes better than too little.
