Let take it one by one of the top 5 comp. of Google.
#1. Yahoo: Simple, they use google db and there ppc deal with there partners(i.e. no google listing, no free traffic).
#2. MSN: first 5 results are "FEATURED SITES", next 3 results are "SPONSORED SITES", finally, after all that comes your (PPI single page, sence they don't spider sites, just the page you paid for) now who is going to find you past all that FS/SS stuff? not many...:(
#3. ask.com: A ton of "Sponsored Web Results" (some times as much as ten) its a PPI and thats "per-URL" only and (no spidering of the whole site:(, need I say more...
#4. excite.com: Most reults are ppc from PPC, next........
#5. lycos.com: top 6 results are "sponsored link" and even if your number 1 or 2 after that(on high traffic terms) the traffic stinks.
As for these two: www.altavista.com and www.alltheweb.com they seem to be fine but, the traffic is small.
So, all in all, Google really isn't that bad at all when you look at what else is out there:). Now hurry up(Google) and get this stuff striaten out:).
Teeceo.
P.S. Special thanks to GooglegGuy for your particapation in this forum and helping us through it all(and for letting us cry on your shoulder:).
And now that you are up, instead of rolling with the punches start giving them (legally and metaphorically to your competition.) We're all big boys here so lets act like it. I love you all and learnt so much from so many of you and for that I am eternally grateful but it is time that we stopped whining and got on with the job.
Happy Surfing

(Sorry to seem to have vented some anger but it is just the way I feel. I have also lost a site to google that hurt me badly but we get up and better ourselves :-)
