Hi everyone,

I optimized one of my sites thats been in development for quite some time. Prior to the optimization, I was listed way at the bottom of the search for the relevent keywords. Subsequent to optimizing, Google crawled my site, and I was listed in the top 5.. in some cases I was in position 1 or 2 which I was estatic about.

I should have prefaced by saying, I did not use any 'shady' techniques at all.. just changed title and made sure my keywords were in the content properly.

Well, after a week or so of enjoying my optimization, I did a search yesterday only to see I wasnt listed at all. I did a search for my URL and my site was listed on google with the OLD information (pre-optimization).

Did Gooogle do a rollback or something? Its really not thtat huge of an issue because I will be doing ad-words probably, just I find it weird that it would do that.

Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated!

Hi sharbel,

Seems like there's been a lot of turmoil at Google over the last few weeks. Old database, different algo, SERPs changing, PR fluctuating and whatever else folks are saying about it, can't quite keep up.

Go into the Google News forum [webmasterworld.com] and check out some of the posts there about various fluctuations in SERPs, etc., and some theories about what's currently going on.

Or start with this Update Domininc [webmasterworld.com] thread for more than you would ever want to know.
