Hi,

After reading and picking up tips here and there, i have been listed at position 3 for the last few months on google.co.uk. 90% of traffic to my site come via this listing and i look at around 350 visitors daily from it.

I have worked on my links and am expanding on the site, to give more content and give it more stickability.. But with regard to SEO, is that it.. do i just leave the sites keywords, code, <h1>'s <p>'s etc or should i be tweaking the site to ensure i dont lose positioning on every update?

Any pointers?

Try adding new content at least once a week best a day. Base that content on on your industry and what other keywords you should be doing well for as to get more traffic. If your site is about widgets then next week add a page on red widgets and optimise for that term.
Keep doing this whilst keeping an eye on your main page that draws in most of your traffic. If it drops then drop what you are doing and go figure out why and get it back on top. If it is number 3 just try get it to no.1.

But all in all you want to dominate your industry by getting to the top of the serps for all the relevant keywords.

Good Luck:)

Agree with Skylo APART from trying to get the no.1 spot ;-)

Thanks for the advice, im a little worried about losing my positioning due to 'Red Widgets' optimsing.

Can i assume a backup of my site before any 'Red Widget optimising' would alow me to get back my old positioning if the 'Red Widget optimising' has a detremental effect? (pending a monthly google update that is)

The only way your red widgets page would be detremental is if you did something dodgy to it. If you optimise it just like you did for your age that is doing well then you will be absolutely fine. If you do thingd that have been tried and tested you will be perfectly fine. It is only when you wonder down the other road that you can expect something bad to happen. I know there is a lot of turbulence at the moment cause of update Dominic but don't be scared just trudge along like we always have and all will be good.
