Hi
i have site that is blue-widgets.com and bluewidgets.com
we stopped using blue-widgets.com over two years ago and just provide a single page on it that links to bluewidgets.com
a lot of people link to the former site so its pagerank is a 6 the same as the main site. what is the best thing to do with the blue-widgets.com site to increase the ranking of the bluewidgets site?
simple link
meta refresh
301 redirect
Best regards
Alan

The PR value that is passed on to a linked site is equal to the PR value of the page divided by the total outgoing links of that page.

Therefore if you have a SINGLE link pointing to your new URL, theoretically, you are passing on the entire PR6 to the new site.

I would definitely advise against Meta Refresh as it can be construed as a doorway page.

contd...

Logical eval of Google alog tells me that 301's will not pass on the PR to your new site.
