Hi,
Yesterday I had a call from a SEO company offering me a guaranteed top ten placement on google for any 10 search words I like, they said they would desiqn a doorway page for my 10 chosen key words. They guarantee a top ten position or my money back, they wanted £700 to do the job. After reading posts for the last 6 months I dont think this is possible
Question 1, Is this possible?
Question 2, If so how does google handle door way pages from a third party?
Question 3, I it is not possible how can they offer a money back guarantee.
Thanks

Question 1, Is this possible?

Answer 1: Possible but not probable.

Question 2, If so how does google handle door way pages from a third party?

Answer 2: Gray toolbar. PR0. Both are possibilities.

Question 3, I it is not possible how can they offer a money back guarantee.

Answer 3: Please read the fine print about any guarantees.

If you've been reading here over the past six months, you would know that this is a typical scam that is perpertrated over and over. It's an old school strategy that may not work as well as it once did.

Classic cold calling routine.

do NOT touch anyone who comes out with stuff like that.

Some of the worlds best SEOs are on this forum, and a lot of them would NEVER ever guarantee anything like that, never mind the budget.

If you want a quality SEO, then 1st ask to see what work they have done in the past.

UK wise, I can only say there are about 5 good SEO companies, and quite a large number of freelancers who do work ethically and at the right price without getting you into trouble.

There are also a number of companies who say they are SEOs, when in fact all they do is manage your PPC campaigns, or pay for you to be listed in places such as Inktomi etc etc.

A Good SEO can do wonders,

A BAD SEO can destroy your business.

Also, if they are going to guarantee placement for 10 keywords, ask them to show you where they rank on Google for their own keywords. If they cannot make an example of themselves, how do they expect to gain more customers, aside from cold calling practises?

Blue_Gravity, I might have to disagree with the above statement. Many of the worlds top SEO's are nowhere to be found for industry specific searches. Why, because they don't want the exposure.

I would ask for client results. Many of the top SEOs have very little time to work on their own sites, let alone battle for top 10 positions in the SEO Industry. The SERPs for SEO related terms have a different algo. ;)

1 of the best SEOs that I know does NOT have a website, not 1 that I am aware of anyway.

Client Results, thats always a good angle to look at, usually uncovers certain networks very very quickly.
