Optimizing a splash page with various language options

Any ideas on this?

Got a bit a tough one here: I was asked to improve the SERP positions of a site which uses a splash page as intro and from this splash page leads to four different language versions of the site. The owner absolutely insists on the splash page, so the only way that I could figure out was to
1. Put the splash page into invisible frames and optimize through the noframes tag for one language
2. register three more domains and set them up the same way, each of them optimized through the noframes tag for one language.

From what I saw in other threads it seems that the noframes tag is getting weaker but do I have any other options?

Bluemi, this is a tough one for sure.
For Google you can do very much through links pointing to the index page/domain, not so with other engines.

Now this would be a situation where cloaking would be the perfect solution: not spamming with keywords etc, but just a short representation of the company and where to go next, i.e. making readable to the not so smart bots what is in the flash.
Alas, that's forbidden if your client is not a search engine or other major player.

What I would look at is strengthening the importance of 4 different language starting pages. Trying to get every possible link pointing to those.

Thanks, heini. Guess that's what I will try. Dou you think the frames setup would make any sense?

I won't say it couldn't work. Personally I wouldn't do it though.
The possibility of getting dropped, banned, penalized, makes it a non option for any site which is in it for long term success IMO.
