At present my site receives 100,000 uniques and 500,000 page views per month. I seem to be stuck at that level, and was wondering if anyone has any idea of how to take the next step. (to break the 1 million page views)I have great link shares, get 40,000 hits from google, 10,000 from yahoo, and only 1000 from altavista, etc etc. I don't want to change keywords, or the text on main pages, incase i loose placing in google and yahoo. I tried buying traffic, but it crap, banner advertising is rubish. So what would be best to try?
With the traffic I get, is a $1500 per month income good? I always thought once i get here I would be little rich boy, not struggling to keep 2 jobs, and working on website on my time off.
Well I have a few other questions, but i'll leave that for another mail.

500,000 page views is nice by most standards. It doesn't make you a major player, but it does suggest that you are doing many things well to attract eyeballs. Back in the days 1997-8ish, I used to run the internet advertising department of a content driven financial web site, and we had approximately 2 million ad worthy impressions to sell on a monthly basis. We sold on a fixed-fee sponsorship basis and a cpm basis. Our revenues were outstanding. Why? Because we had a highly specified content offering and an easily identifyable advertising base to sell to. In this case, mostly brokers and brokerage firms who were spending a pretty penny on ads. The point to the story Mark, is what do you have in your site? Is it content diven? Is it focused? Is your target audience highly identifyable? Sounds like you sell on a CPA basis only, have you tried CPC or CPM? Have you thought about working with an agency or rep firm? Is your traffic stagnant because your site is not sticky or because you are not taking on new users? How relevant and contextual are your current ads, what type of ads are they? Do you sell anything? Where does your $1500 come from? Are you showing 1 ad per page view or 10? Etc. Etc. You see my point, Mark?
So I use fastclick (CPM & CPC), and amazon, and sell a members area access for $25. The members area is where the most money comes from, it contains, more advanced content and an ebook libary.
Can anyone recommend a good agency or rep to work with. I want to spend as little money as possible, as i am in debt to my eyeballs.
Another problem i have is that i am based in the UK, 80% of my users are from the states, and some companies (eg ebay.com) will not allow me to sign up for their affiliate programs.
