impact of using iframes on placement

looking for general guidance on iframe impact on search engine placement

I am hoping a kind soul willl provide some basic guidance on the use of iframes and there impact on SE placement.

Has no one answered you after all this time?

iFrames are not followed by Google and I am not aware of any Search Engine that does follow them. Any content on them will not be indexed unless you use the <noframes> tag to provide the links to the iframe content.
