I was reading some stuff form Lycos and they say that spiders do not like pages with identical titles. I have soem php pages with a tmplate and I had changed the title to a static one. Is this a no-no? Does google care if titles are identical? Thanks.

You need to use a title to be descriptive and unique. If you use the same title you will definitely not fair well in the engines. Title has a lot of weight in ranking and you are only targeting one phrase throughout the site.

Yep, and that holds true for all engines.
You won't get panlised or anything for identical titles, but it just doesn't make much sense.

I guess i was optimising the main page and pushing out without some targeted but some not so targeted. I have changed all the titles.
