Hi All,

I am waiting for my pages to be in the index.

spiders from 64.*.*.* and 216.*.*.* have visited me for more than 2 weeks now, and I am not in the index yet :(.

Am I banned or i should wait till the next update?

Thank You

Hi Neh2008,
Wait for the update - Google indexes your pages long before they will show up. Check the index during the first week of March after the update and you will almost certainly show if Googlebot has been visiting.

Hm, since you posted in the search engine promotion forum, I think it'll take a while to get answers for you...:)

Inktomi usually spiders and updates their db ( from what I've seen ) within 3 weeks, so is very fast these days.

Ask - I have no idea, I'd say wait a good couples months...while they are giving me traffic, it takes months to build to a slow trickle. ( for me ).

Google - updates 'the big one' once a month, and they don't give out the advance schedule to just anybody. :)

Alltheweb - can update their db fast, but like ASK, the traffic they drive is pretty small for me but I noticed recently, a changed site got refreshed in about 3 weeks...whether that is the exception or the rule, I don't have the traffic to prove it.

Altavista updates...hm, just who is Altavista anyway? Oh! Overture just bought them. Except an update within 48 hours, right after you fork over your CC number.

WiseNut - updates about once a year...

Teoma - See ASK above.

As for the rest...if they don't derive results from one of the above, and it's a spidering engine, be very shocked if you get more than 2 referrals from them.

I know I would be.

Well, if you look at the Search Engine Promotion forum [webmasterworld.com] it makes sense to be asking about, "updates in general"...since this forum covers all aspects of search engine promotion.

But - if I was worried only about the Google update, I might post the same question in the Google News Forum [webmasterworld.com]...as that might make a bit more logical sense. In that case, it would be obvious to be a 'Google issue' instead of a 'search engine promotion issue'.

:)
