My site doesn't appear on other search engines

My site is ranked in a top 10 at Google but is not in other SE's

Hello Everybody,

This is my first active participation in any kind of discussion here. I have two questions.

I have optimized my site for goolge as a primary focus, now it appears in top 10 positions for a few keywords and I am happy, but it does not appear in top 50 position for the same keywords on many other search engines like MSN or Altavista.

1. Is there anything in particular that I need to do to achieve higher ranking in these search engines.
Will that affect my ranking at google?

2. My existing page rank is 6, I am trying to increase this to 7 or may be 8 but it some how seems very very difficult. Is it possible to achieve this or am I asking to too much too soon :-)

Visit our specialist forums for the other search engines. They are supervised by very competent people who can tell you a lot about the special problems and possibilities in these search engines.

There are members who actually have reported having lost positions in one search engine when optimising for another.

The step from PR6 to PR7 is much larger than the one from PR5 to PR6. It's a logarithmic scale. I am trying to take that step for one of my two PR6 pages and I expect a very hard job.
