Is there an index page?

I was wondering about subdomains and how they actually work.

Do they have their own index page? Would this go to it's own index page if I had a wow.mysite.com/index?

Yes, a subdomain has its own index page, as a subdomain is in essence a seperate site, and the search engines treat it as such.
