My webhost has just changed the DNS that a site I manage is being hosted on..

this site has been recently crawled by all major search engines and rankings are great (uncompetitive area)

for the next 48 hours there are 2 sites live until the changeover is complete

will the move affect anything? I really don't understand these things..

As far as I know, there should not be a problem. My host had to move all files to a new server recently and all sites had to change DNS. There were no problems.

It always gets you thinking, though;)

<added>Thanks again for the css help!

further to this...everything seems to be OK as Birdman stated, all search engines and other traffic are now visiting through the new IP...all, that is, except Google

should I now take down the site that is on the old IP?

why hasn't google automatically moved over over yet?

it's a difficult time as last month was the first month this particular site's been deepcrawled (subsequently it now has a PR) and I wouldn't like to "lose" deep crawler after the last 4 months hard work
