I am new to SEO and considering WPG - is it all its cracked up to be or am I risking my clients business by using it!?

I, and many others, will advise you to shy away from using automated programs like WPG.

I am looking for a quick and reletivley easy way to promote vaious sites and up their rankings in search engines to increase trafic.

My advice is avoid software, is not usefull for SEO. I bought WPG and I haven't used it. To up the rankings, read this forums, get links with ancohr text rich in your KWs, optimize your code and structure (this is a goog point to start: [webmasterworld.com...] submit manually and pray to Googlegod...

The ranking reports can come in handy for a boss/client, however, it helps if you can take the data and put it in a more pleasant looking format.

We used to use the other features back in 99'-00' but ever since "black Monday" or whatever it was when AV purged the spam from their index we've never used any of the other features.

The customer support is first rate IMHO. It is no magic bullet to improve rankings.

I am new to Webmaster World and just came across this discussion about Web Position Gold. I have been using WPG for about 3 years and I have to say, it has taught me how to write the most important page on any site. The index page. I did play with the program for almost 8 months and then figuired out what would work with the program and what wouldn't. WPG can compare your site with the number 1 site for any keyword in any search engine and then you have to adjust the page for better palcement. I also did not use WPG to submit any pages to any search engines. I just FTPed all pages and let the engines spider my site and include the new pages in their directory. My index page has been number 1 for over 2 years for all of my keywords and I would HIGHLY recommend WPG to build your pages. There are many other factors involved with promoting your web site. I do have to tell you that although I am number one with the search engines, I still use Overture and Find What to promote some keywords that were not picked up by some search engines. If you would like to see how it works. Type in cabinet hardware in Yahoo or Google and go to the first site that is in the directory. Not PPC. Hope this helps.
