I have a client who recently came on board for SEO work. However their site is entirely built using flash, would you recommend that I built a new site using html or just try and concentrate on link popularity.
Any help much appreciated I have never had to try and optimise a flash site.

Search engine spiders cant read Flash, I would build an alternative HTML version and give the sufer and spider the option of both worlds :)

It depends on what the site does and how the Flash enhances it. With "all Flash" sites I like to break up the movie into small page movies. Then I can add a checker that will test to see if the Flash plugin is available or not. Then i can serve up HTML for user agents with out the Flash plugin. The most effective way to use Flash is to only use it where it will enhance and not just use one tool to build your house.
