In order to increase my popularity with yahoo, should I be concerned about
how many hits I recieve in general or how many hits I recieve via yahoo.

Also, if my site appears on the results page for several keywords and there
is one particular keyword that is generating alot of traffic, will this
help my site's ranking for those other keywords?

It is going to related to hits from yahoo but only ones that are tracked. The ones from fed result (google top up) will not have much impact. If they do include that sort of click thru in their algo they will have a way of stopping the same IP clicking loads and perhaps a way of monitoring the ones who come straight back to a search, indicating that the site was not suitable for them.

Not too sure regarding your second pondering but it could be dependant a little on the descriptions used.

which results are you referring to?

If you do a search on yahoo and no directory results are found the results are filled up with Google results (Web Matches). They only have the click thru code on directory listings.
