I have a site: (ie:)widgets.com. My site is hosted and also has a subdomain which points to another host and ip (ie:)widgets.widgets.com.

My questions are in regards to submission and formatting. Should I submit both the domain and subdomain? Will I be rated for the content of the sub or will this hinder me? Should I just wait for the content of the sub to be spidered? Will it be?

I have optimized the main site and like the way the jsp content produces with the subdomain using the other ip for co-branded content. I think having all this content would really help.

Please give your comments on any tips of experiences that you have had in situations like this.

Thanks - TJ

If I understand the situation correctly, your setup is just like most other sites that utilize sub-domains.

The search engines will treat your subdomain as a seperate site, so you will need to make sure the sub-domain has plenty of unique content, is fully optimized, and you will have the submit the sub-domain to the search engines and work on link popularity as you would a completely seperate site.

What if the subdomain has content that is shared (that others also utilize)?

The reason I am confused is that there are not any meta tags on the home page of the site that I am pointing to with the subdomain.
