Hi,
Client has a product (shoe polish) he wants to sell over the Internet and wanted to see if there were demands.

I went and did keyword phrase search in the wordtracker.com. The keyphrase of "shoe polish" has appeared 122 times in wordtracker database.

From previous postings I found that 122 is too small.. the posting recommended about 300 hits being pretty good.

Do I tell the client that there are not much demands in shoe polish in the E-business?

thanks,

Welcome to WebmasterWorld [webmasterworld.com]

It sounds like there isn't much demand for that online. Generally, we avoid specific keyword(s) 'round here, because of abusive postings in the past.

In this case, though, you are safe, I think. Since nobody buys it online, and only 37,000 results in Google for that, if it were me - I wouldn't sell it online.

Shipping costs probably outweigh the product costs, right? And didn't groceries not work too well online / deliver later for those ecommerce startups?

My recommendation would be that, in general, if people can get it at any local grocery store, that should *not* be a foundation for an online presence.

Please, have a look around at the link I pointed out above - we've got a ton of infmormation here, and lots of friendly people like myself to answer questions re: online marketing, promotion, design, etc. All kinds of stuff.

Again, welcome to WebmasterWorld.
