Google, DMOZ & Yahoo Directory

...how do they relate?

I understand the importance of being listed in DMOZ and Yahoo directory, but there are a couple things that I'm not entirely clear on. Hopefully someone will have time to shed some light :).

As I understand it, google ranks pages. DMOZ and YD both list at the web site level. Does my DMOZ listing (and associated relevancy) cascade to all pages within my site for google's ranking?

What about canonicals or sub-domains? If I restructure a site into canonicals, do I need to resubmit each to DMOZ and YD to get that boost? Is that spamming? I would need to pay YD for each canonical, Right?

If I don't go with the canonicals, the site in question would fit into a number of different DMOZ categories. What are the advantages of being liste in multiple categories?

Thanks!

Yes, it does, the link association from any incoming link will cascade throughout the website.

Usually with DMOZ, one listing per site, unless the site structure, makes navigation between the sub-domains, impossible for searchers. Though genuine multiple listed sites in the ODP are massive sites. You would get a boost from the listings. But you would be spamming, if you are not careful.

Is that spamming?

Yes and no, dependent on site arrangement, and scale of the site as a whole.

Yes

Hub authorities, and associations to particular classifactions in the ODP, hence your related reciprocal link hunting can be on a broader spectrum, but still very related to your site, and will help you throughtout the internet nevermind google.
