hi everyone!
I have a budget of 800$ for promoting my website (for one year) I have done everything to optimize my website, I also have submitted it manually to a lot of directories in the last 2 months, but I think it is time to spend some money to get good results.

which are the best places to give out this money?

adwords? overture? yahoo 250$ submission? 10,000 search engines submission? what else?

Anything except the " 10,000 search engines submission". That is really worthless.

Where to put the money? On your weaker spot.

Yahoo is $299 per year, I'd do some research before paying to see if it's right for you. Some to great there others don't feel it's worth it.

Any PPC is going to drain that moolah pretty quick unless your seriously limiting your keywords. Think about it 800/12 = $65/month not much. One client with VERY targeted keywords all at 5cents ate up 65-75 every month. That leaves nothing for anything else.

PFI like Inktomi might be a better idea.

Stay as far away from mass submission services as possible.

Well, for $800 I will submit your site to 31,042 search engines if you want:)

All kidding aside, the Yahoo submission is probably your best bet.

Depends on the nature of the site and your intentions.
If it's ecommerce and you haven't done PPC I'd seriously recommend doing some PPC - nothing sharpens your focus as much as seeing the money going down the drain for too broad keywords. A lot to learn from actively monitoring and finetuning a PPC campaign.
If you're interested in diversifying you could go for INK and FAST PFI. Both give you the opportunity to finetune your pages and getting visible for non Google users.
A Yahoo submission can be highly rewarding: Yahoo in Europe still displays directory results first.
There are some other directories which are worth the money - if it's not for the clicks it's for the good link.
