Hi all,I have a client who will have a budget for SEO and placement for a web we are doing...

but I have no idea how much to budget for. Client is a wine producer. The keywords are example1 and example2. I am interesting in prices for coming tops in searches with these words, any help greatly appreciated

Anyone bought keywords before?, i realise that keywords like everything else, there value can be hugely different one from another but any prices would be interesting

Hi OddDog welcome to WW! :)

example1 - only 8 competing sites on Google - if you put together a comprehensive page about this term (what is it, history, etc, etc), you should be number one.

example2 - 1000ish competing websites, but you shouldnt have any problems getting up top by doing the same for this term (the number one spot may be more comprehensive).

Cost - if you know how to do this yourself, then free (well, a small donation to WW! ;)).

To hire someone, you may wish target some more commonly searched for terms (wine production?) to make it worthwhile cos i really dont know how often the terms you mentioned are searched for.

Hope this helps.

JOAT :)

Welcome OddDog

According to the Overture tool those 2 words were not searched for on Overture last month.

Nor was example1 or example2

You can buy the keywords for $0.05 per click but may not get any clicks.

<side note> We should not be discussing SPECIFIC keywords </side note>

ok guys thanks for the replies.

humm, about not talking about specific keywords, is there some legal or moral issue i am not aware of?

if so apologies. am new to this game.

does there exist a way of simple paying to be first? and does anyone have examples of what that can cost?

Go to Overture.com
Open an account.
The minimum bid is $0.05

The point I was trying to make is that you can be #1 BUT if people DO NOT search for the term it will do you no good.

ok thanks Mike, obviously the web is only parrt of a planned marketing campaign to export this type of wine, both to the us and uk. Other media will help drive interest in these terms.
