Hi,

I am currently trying to optimise my site for the term "people search". I am having lots of trouble though. However, i get good positions for the domain name alone. The phrase i am no 6 in MSN.COM is simply find friends (guess the url!).

Would it we worth it purchasing a domain name with the term people search in it, and having this as a front page that is optimised.

All links would actually point to our simplyfindfriends site.

Do you think this would help me? If anybody could offer any advise as to how to get a better position for the term "people search" i would be very grateful.

Thanks!

At this forum they wont let you post your own site address. Keeps people from doing sly marketing tricks and such things!

I would recommend having a look through the site [searchengineworld.com...] the information from that site alone is worth its weight in gold and will help you in your quest for a better search engine ranking, the site is the sister site of webmasterworld.

Your url will probably be deleted, but to answer your question:

You might want to aim a little lower. I see your site isn't in google - so to try for such a competitive phrase - would be a little like starting out running for president when (and I am guessing by your name that might be impossible)

Try for something a little less popular - or offer a very good service that people will want to link to.

Craig was posting while I was :)
