Google and Java Script Links

Would like to know what Google follows with different links.

Can Google follow a java script generated link or can it only follow a hard coded link?

For example:

Java generated Link [mysite.com.au...]

Hard code
[mysite.com.au...]

Thinking about creating links with Java script but no point if Google cannot recognise and follow them.

thanks.

PS I know it only says I've made one post but believe me, I have been reset somehow :(

Stricko, I don't know how your profile could have been reset, but you may want to ask Brett_Tabke, the system administrator.

As for the JS links, the search engines will not follow them, but there are a number of different things that you can do to about this. The easiest solution would probably be to add a text link footer or use the <NO SCRIPTS> tag depending on how it is all set up.

A text link footer is simply a simple nav bar along the bottom of a page, or screen, made up of text...looks a bit like this :

HOME ¦ ABOUT US ¦ CONTACT

Somthing like that...

I like them, as they make it dead easy for spider and user to get about - it solves the disabled browser/no image browsers...and also add a good footer the bottom of a page...

This is something I have been dealing with for a new client of mine.

The original designer used a lot of <includes>

Do you guys think it is a good rule of thumb: IF when I view the source and I see the code that it can be read by the spiders.

Thanks
