I have bought and use www.webpositiongold.com and www.wordtracker.com and also use www.selfpromotion.com. Are there better tools available?
What do you use?

As an SEO expert, what would your budget request be of your client , expressed as a percentage of sales, for a SEO campaign conducted for $1+ billion sales, publicly owned manufacturing copanies, in SIC codes such as canned foods, carbamide nitric fertilizer, aluminum billet smelters, machinery, pharmaceuticals. ( Assume objective is to generate
$50 million in additional sales [5% increase]

Apparently, WPG is the best... At getting your web site banned from search engines. Do a site search for "WPG" and read the posts and you can make up your own mind. :)

There is no good "SEO software", IMHO. Use what you've got to check rankings occasionally, but I would not use it to generate pages. Off-page factors are way too important for Google and its not possible to automate directory stuff, though custom scripts can come in handy when determining the best category and keywords to target.

If the expecation is to be able to trace an additional 50 million in sales directly to SEO, I go for a percentage deal, say 5 or 10%.

And God said let there be light and there was light...... then God made *human*, and also gave him the *best knowledge* of SEO work.

Trust me my dear friend, software can be just *side tools* main thing is your desire to learn and play around and discover it before your competitor does.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think Google is the only major SE that has a policy against WPG (or any auto rank checker).

WPG can be a useful rank checking tool on other SE's. Google's TOS make it clear that ANY automated checking of the SERPs is a no-no. WPG just happens to be the market leader in the spotlight.

The page generator has probably tripped up a novice or two resulting in PR0's and other unpleasantries. Many people here have probably relied on WP at some point for some things, however, it will not "do" SEO for you.

They provide good tech support.

We use it for rank charts.

rmvjol, does Google permanently bans domains using WPG or there's a chance to get back (one of my client says he has been using it for months and obviously, he hasn't made it with google) ?
