Promoting a Flash site on search engines

How do I have someone put flash site on search engines?p

I am having a lot of trouble putting my latest Flash site on any search engines!!

I have a PR firm and want to get maximum exposure for people looking for PR experts.

I have conflicting answers on how it needs to be done. Some say cloaking and static pages are necessary. It seems there is a faster and less expensive solution??

I want the fastest, most effective way to get my flash site, name out there, on the the top 5 search engines.
Without paying a fortune!

How do I do that?

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, linda_grace. Yes, static pages are necessary. But even with cloaking, it would still be more effective to provide a choice of Flash or static pages for site visitors. Some people don't care for Flash sites, so it's not an effective marketing tool for them; it's better to have an entry page giving a choice, or simply have flat HTML pages with Flash presentation imbedded where needed.

Search engine promotion is not necessarily fast unless you go the PPC route. It will still take having static pages to have an effective campaign, and as far as cost goes, it can be expensive to *not* have search engine exposure, since one good account can probably recover the cost for you and having some good rankings can bring continued revenue that would be unavailable without it.

Thank you so much for your response. Do you have any recommendations about who could do this for me? I'm in San Rafael, California. I am anxious to finally get this done and properly!

You're absolutely right about making up cost for with new business as a result of the being on the search engines!

Also, do you have any idea how long this should realistically take?

Linda, initially you'll need some balanced advice about design and usability, and along with preparing for search engine exposure, an alternative is to start with some PPC to get it rolling, as well as submission to ODP, local directories and other directories, and maybe some other types of good internet advertising that's targeted. Best thing would be to work with someone who can integrate the search engine promotion with other venues you're using to promote.

You can read the charter and post for help in our Commercial Exchange, that would probably get you some response. And also, start reading and participating here at the board. Barely a week can go by without finding some little nuggets that are helpful.
