Has anybody using Printer-Friendly pages seen any SE advantage. I imagine that this could be quite a useful way of essentially offering your content to a spider with all the navigation and other garbage stripped away.

I worry about them as dupe content. I've noticed, in fact, that some sites use javascript links to their printer-friendly pages, and wonder whether stopping spiders is one of the reasons they do this.

If you kept all your printer friendly pages in one directory, and used a clever cloaking scheme to send spiders to the printer-friendly version of whichever other page they tried to load, you might get the stripped-down benefits without the dupe content.

But what a hassle...
